No more pictures like this of our sweet little 2 1/2 year old!

It took my daughter to pull my hair ( way harder then I ever could have imagined her pulling ) and throw this huge tantrum for me to finally put my foot down and say NO MORE NUK!

She did fine all day and nap time was only a tiny bit hard with a few tears shed and she was asleep without it. The car ride home she asked for it once but then talked my ear off the rest of the way. While we where at home ( daddy works late on Wed. so its just me with Alex ) she had asked for it a few times but no tears where shed.

She would say she wants her Nuk and I would remind her why she lost it. She would then tell me in her sad little sweet voice, "I know mommy but I really want it". I almost caved in a few times when she stuck her little lip out. BUT I STOOD STRONG.

When my husband came home he had her apologize to me and she gave me the biggest huge and said she loved me. It was super sweet.

She did have a hard time falling asleep without it. She didn't shed any tears and she didn't ask for it but I think she is so used to it that she just couldn't fall asleep. She was up until almost 11pm talking and tossing and turning.

Today has been AWESOME! I mean it has been PERFECT! She talks to much more now then before and she has only asked for it once.

This was one of my biggest fears and I am glad now that she pulled my hair and made me so stinking mad and upset because we don't have a nuk anymore. We don't have to remind her to take it out when you talk, or that she doesn't need it, or that it is going to ruin her teeth.

We have a big girl on our hands. Next is Potty Training and she is making progress with that daily.

I think she is pretty close to being ready to be a BIG SISTER!

What a sweet pictures :)

When you realize they talk so much less with it and sleep better there will be times you'll be stressed and say to yourself "man I sure wish she still had that thing in her mouth" :)

But I think it's awesome what you did a great job! Now potty training is another issue all together...I need to tackle that with Caleb but I'm not brave enough yet!

Thats great that she was able to handle life without it. They get so attached, I'm already dreading the day I have to take Coopers away.
Sounds like you did it right though. Good job Alex.
