Last Thursday

Thursday Night my neighbor ShaNae and I went to the Hospital for a tour of the birthing center. I wasn't planning on doing this but I thought it would be a good idea to see where everything was going to take place.

I am so excited we went and the touring group was rather large ( 35+ of us ) but we learned a lot and we got to see the amazing center. There are 3 rooms in which everything will take place:

1. Check ( 2 rooms ) - this is were they will do the initial assessment and first monitoring of the baby
2. Labor and Delivery ( 6 rooms ) - this is were the birthing of the new baby will take place and the recovery ( 2 hours ) will happen. This room is huge and has all the latest technology, it is like triple the size of the room I had Alex in. It also has a 42 ( maybe bigger ) flat screen TV on the wall, birthing ball, squatting bar, glider, big tub, nice big pull out couch for daddy, and more. 3 of the rooms have windows and the other 3 have another 42 inch screen that displays pretty scenic backgrounds that you can also hook up a memory card to, to display pictures.

3. Recovery and Family Time ( 18 rooms ) - a little bit smaller then the labor and delivery room but still very large. These rooms all have windows, gliders and couches for the dads.

The nursery for the babies was huge but very empty. Not any babies in the nursery at the time we were there, which means they were all with there mommy and daddies.

This Birthing Center also has the latest security for baby and mommy. Both baby and mommy will wear bracelets or anklets and an alarm will sound if the baby is taken outside the allowed area.

Did I mention that this Hospital just opened on December 31st!

I am super excited to deliver here but am not sure if we will be able to. There nursery only goes to a Level 2 and with all that is going on I hope that level 2 is perfectly fine and that me and the baby don't need to worry about having a higher level nursery and staff.

SO HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE HAVING OUR 2ND BABY AT THIS AMAZING NEW HOSPITAL!!

Yay Sounds like a great facility!

I was able to deliver Caleb in a different hospital than my first two and even Allie and the room that I labored and delivered in was the room we stayed in until we left the hospital. We were so spoiled!!!!!!!! There aren't many like that but oh it would be so nice if there were :)

That place sounds really nice. I hope you get to deliver there! I think new hospitals always seem so much nicer because they don't have that "hospital" smell to them.
As far as that picture I did on my blog, I just used picnik to change it to faded daguerrotype and I think it looked so neat.

Hi Erin - I'm so behind on my blog and tweet reading. So sorry that you are going through this stress right now! I will be praying for peace, for the baby, for you and Chad, for the doctors, and that all the little details get hammered out in time for delivery.
