Avin had a bunch of tests done while she was in the hospital. Here are two of the tests that are routine for all babies and infants under 37 weeks.

Hearing Test

Avin passed her ABR Hearing Screening test. She passed it in 1 minute and 39 seconds. This test is now mandated and every newborn is given this test. This test is to make sure the baby can hear and to detect any hearing loss.

The Car Seat Test

This test is done on all Newborns 37 weeks and under. We had to bring in Avins car seat and she was to be on monitors in her car seat for 2 hours. They run this test to make sure premature babies can hold there Oxygen and Heart Rate. They watch to make sure neither of these states drop while the infant is in the car seat. Avin did amazing and she is oh so tiny in her car seat. We have to use 4 blankets to make sure she is snug and secure in it.

A few other things . . We did have Avin get the Hepatitis B vaccine and she also qualified for the RSV vaccine. She will get the RSV vaccine monthly through its season which I believe is April or May.

I remember those tests. I had no idea they did a car seat test until I had Dylan early!
