Big Island

Island or Weeds

What on earth are these boats doing?

Alex directing the way to a giant island of weeds that came loose in a "storm" a few weekends ago at the lake.   Chad is still unsure if he really believes that a storm was able to break free this gigantic island of weeds.   He finds it odd that the weeds broke free in the area where the farmer just put the land up for sale.  Seems kind of fishy to me.

Between 5 and 10 boats and pontoons where helping push this thing back across the lake where it belonged.  At one point it was up against peoples docks and blocking in their boats. They got it back to where it belonged but that didn't last long.

When we got there for the 4th it had moved again and it was infront / blocking 5 or 6 cabins.  That is how big this thing is.  How mad would you be if you came up for the 4th of July and couldn't even get your boat out or swim. By the end of the weekend the wind did pick up enough and move it back across the lake.  The scary thing is, is that you wont ever know where this thing will be.  It is so large that it could ruin your dock or boat.  One day it will be on one side of the lake and another it could be on the other.

Doesn't seem like the DNR will do anything about it either.  Or if they will it will cost lots of money.

ps. don't forget to enter my giveaways.  there are 3 going on right now.

Erin we had this at our lake too... if the DNR catches you doing this you can get a huge fine... My grandpa moved some and they freaked out on him... Not sure if they warned him or fined him!
