Holiday Program 2010

We started Alex in dance this year and I love it.  I love taking her every Wednesday and watching her dance.  I love that she is meeting lots of more little girls her age and enjoying it.

I guess most the time she is enjoying it.
was a wed. a few weeks ago where we had drama because I did not put a skirt over her leotard and tights and she MELTED down.  She was so sad and she wouldn't dance.  Thank goodness my neighbor and Alex best friend had an extra skirt and that was still drama.  The teacher after 5 minutes and after Alex calmed down made her take the skirt off because Mya said it was her skirt.  It was her skirt but Mya mom said she could wear it so I had to go in again and tell the teacher I understand it is not her skirt but I did not tell my child to just go dig through kids bags and found a skirt and that she sure can wear it.  Then we had the next wed. where she came out crying again.  After about 5 minutes of talking with her she went back in.

I do not want to force her to do something but I do not want her quitting things and not finishing something she has started.  She loves to dance and I know she most of the time loves dance class.  Don't get me wrong if she told me she hated it and didn't want to do it I would not make her keep going.

This last wed. we had her Holiday Recital.  The girls got to wear their Holiday Dresses and they performed 2 tap dances and 1 ballet.  They danced to the songs Row Row Row Your Boat, The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Frosty The Snowman.  After the dances which only took about 15 minutes they had Santa come ( a fake santa.. blah ) and then we where done for the night.

My mom, step dad, brother and sister in law as well as my husband came and watched Alex dance.  This was the first time they had all seen her dance.  There was a ton of people there and some of the girls cried the entire time becuase they where not used to all the people watching but I am glad to say that my little lady did amazing and looked so stinken cute dancing to her songs!

I took video of all 3 dances.. so you all get to enjoy those!

We also found out that for Alex big recital in March she is going to be a Monkey and Minni Mouse and let me tell you those costumes are so stinken cute. They are to die for.  I also need to remember to bring flowers or a little gift for her after that big recital.  There will be a ton more family and friends coming to that recital she will have an ALEX FAN SECTION!
