Earthquake

Last night right before I was about to fall asleep I somehow found out that there was an Earthquake in New Zealand.  Normally it would not phase me, sure I would feel horrible for the people who lived there but I would not worry about it or loose sleep over it.  Last night was different however because my mom and step dad are in New Zealand and they have been for the last 10+ days.

The Earthquake happened in Christchurch, New Zealand and I was not sure where exactly my mom and step dad where at the time.  I had no way to get ahold of them as they have been going from place to place and a lot of the time where at places that had no internet access.  My mom has been on Facebook and emailed a few times but she had not been on for a few days because they where in mountains and so on.

Needless to say I lost slept last night because I had no idea where they where and was just worried.  I have a hard enough time when my mom goes on trips and we don't get to see her weekly.  My and my girls are super close to my mom.  She helps me out weekly and I talk to her daily.  So yup I was worried.

Here are a few of the pictures from the earthquake.
So far I have heard that 65 people have died and some are still trapped.

I got on facebook today and my mom had sent me a few messages letting me know that they where ok and safe.  They have to change a few plans and might be flying to Australia to spend the last 4 days instead of heading to Christchurch and flying out of there.

I am just glad they are safe and enjoying there way to long of a vacation.

My mom and step dad travel a lot and are very adventurous.
On this trip alone my mom and step dad have been Bungy Jumping, on a 360ft canyon swing, luge racing down a mountain, held and ate part of a glacier up there, built a rock sculpture on the side of the road, ice cave hiking and I am sure much more.

Secretly thinking of nominating them for AMAZING RACE!

I am so glad they are alright! I am sure you were so worried. My dad lost a dear friend in the Haiti tragedy. I felt so badly for his wife awaiting word if her husband was alive or dead. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the earthquake!

I'm so glad they're okay! One of my family members was touring in New Zealand, too. I was so worried, but he updated that he had left Christchurch just hours before it happened!
