May Day

One of my favorite things about being a mom is trying to make traditions for my kids as well as do some of the things I remember doing as a kid with them.  I think it is so fun to do things every single year and it is even more fun when they remember what that tradition or day is all about and get excited about it.

May 1st is May Day

May Day is when you make baskets or buckets or whatever you want and fill them with things.  Once the baskets are made you take them to your friends houses, set them down, ring the door bell and run.  The object is to not get caught or your friends are supposed to kiss you.

Alex loves putting together the bucks and making a card.
She loves picking out things to put in the buckets.
She loves ringing the door bells and waiting for them to come and answer.

This year no one answered but we still had a blast and she loves doing these types of things with me.

We put stickers, ring pops, suckers, a little plant and a few other things in the buckets.

I got everything in the dollar section at Target and we just made two for Alex bestfriends : Mya and Keylee.  We of course had to make one for Alex.

 Do you do May Baskets?

That's so cute! I've heard of it, but it doesn't happen around here!
