First Field Trip Of Many....

Tuesday was Avin's first field trip of the year...
and first field trip ever!

She was so excited to ride the bus,
have me there with her,
and just explore!

We went to Lowery's Nature Center...
I went there last year with Alex in the winter...
This year we got to see it in the fall...

Most of the time was spent on a Nature Walk....
Through the woods, on a path,
exploring and finding different things on the ground...
that falls from trees.

Leaves, seeds, nuts, berries...
all different colors and sizes...
Avin was finding and sticking in my purse to keep.

Over the past two weeks...
the kids in her class had been collecting items from trees
at home to bring in and talk about.

We got to stop on our walk,
grab a magnifine glass, a hula hoop and some links,
and look up close at different things on the ground...
as well as measure anything they wanted.

Didn't take long until the kids where throwing the hula hoops,
getting in each others faces with the glass,
and trying to get the hula hoop around small tree branches.

We got to an area in the woods...
where there was multiple forts built out of sticks,
for the kids to explore and play in...
as well as these logs for them to climb on!

It was pretty fun watching Avin with her friends and teachers,
seeing how she acted with many other kids her age,
following directions, helping her classmates, listening...
and just over all not being a sassy mess!

I did love that she wanted me to hold her at times,
hold her hand while walking down the paths,
and just made sure I was watching her explore!

The weather was perfect,
sun was shinning, wind was blowing,
so leaves and other things from trees where falling as we walked,
kids where talking and giggling...
was a perfect mid day activity with my little one.

Lucky that I am able to enjoy days like this,
join her in making memories at school,
and capture pictures for her to remember this day!

Can't wait for many more field trips with her and her sister
in the days, months and years to come!
