Christmas was Different

When going through a divorce & the first few years after...
Things are different, not easy, always changing...
& take some time to get used to...
if that's even possible.

This year was the first year sense Alex was born...
That I didn't celebrate Christmas w/ my girls on Christmas...
This was the first year sense the divorce that my siblings where away...
We are on an every other schedule & this year was the other, a quite year...

Things would have & could have been a lot worse...
Had I not had Bob, his kids & family to spend Christmas with...
It would have been a lot more lonely & I would have been a lot more depressed.

Christmas and the time surrounding Christmas...
Was still fun, memories where made...
and a lot of fun was had.

I took my girls to see Santa...
The same as every year...
I love it, they love it!

We did Breakfast with Santa at Olympic Hills...
Just like the year before, which I think it will become a yearly tradition...
This year we didn't forget the presents, so Santa was able to give the kids a gift...

This year we added Bob and his kids into the mix...
I am so glad they where able to make it...
I think everyone had a great time!

I was able to join Alex school party...
Gingerbread House making fun.

I am lucky that I am able to join in on things like this...
I enjoy every single minute of it & I know she absolutely loves it!

I love meeting her friends, talking with her teacher, socializing with other parents...
But most of all I love seeing her smile because I am there with her, making memories.

I celebrated Christmas Eve with Bob, his kids and his parents...
We opened presents, went out to the land & played around ( it was freezing )...
Made dinner & watched a movie before the kids went back to their moms.

We spent Christmas Day at Bobs aunts house with his family...
& Christmas Night we had dinner with my mom & Jack at their house.

Actually Bob & I spent the weekend before Christmas up at his cabin...
We snowmobiled, went to a movie, ate out &  just enjoyed our time together...
We then got home early Sunday & finished ( more like started ) Christmas Shopping....
I absolutely love my time alone with him, call me selfish, but I can't deny it, I Love It!

Bob, his family & even some of his friends have welcomed me with open arms...
It has made things so easy & nice, when you feel like you belong right away...
I appreciate that more then those few will ever know!

Bob & I exchanged gifts...
Even though he told me for weeks he wasn't getting me anything!

I gave him a photo calendar & mouse pad...
A few shirts ( hated both ) and a nice spider jacket ( love him in it )...
Along with some comfy pants ( he didn't own a single pair )...

He gave me the beautiful necklace you see above...
I love love love it, he did a great job picking it out...
I was actually surprised at just how pretty it was / is...
I wear it every day!

My girls came home on the 26th...
No matter who surround me on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day...
It could have never been the same as having my girls by my side...
But Bob always seems to make me feel important, wanted & needed!

My mom and I took them to see llama llama Holiday Drama...
It was cute, not the best but I love seeing those things with them!

The Hopkins Theater has great plays...
They are short & cheap...
Perfect for kids!

When they got home...
They where welcomed by Santa...
Even though they where away, he still made a stop at our house!

That night we opened gifts...
Just me, the girls & Bob!

They got a lot of cool things...
A necklace holder & some necklaces....
Lite Brix, Ocotnauts, Lala loopsy, piggy banks, fishing poles...

That Saturday we headed over to my mom & jacks house to celebrate Christmas...
Still a little weird because it's only my brother & his family, me & my girls & them....
But we did it the same, with yummy foods, kids playing & opening gifts....

My mom always does such a good job decorating the tree...
& wrapping all the millions of gifts under the tree!

Alex and Avin did a great job passing out the gifts...
Though we had to help a little with names, they sure enjoyed it...
We let the kids open up the gifts first before us adults even jumped in on the fun!

It is such a crazy mess...
But I do love watching them ripe into everything...
and the smiles on their faces when they see what's inside

They walked away with toys, clothes, snowmobile helmets & more!
I walked away with perfume, Pink stuff, a jacket & more!

We gave grandma gift card, calendar & some gardening gloves...
We gave Grandma some gift cards to a few of his favorite places to eat...

After hanging out for a bit, relaxing & cleaning up the mess...
I headed home to pick up Bob & we heading out to the sledding hill for some fun!

It was a beautiful day & the hill was packed with families...
Making memories with their loved ones.

It was almost too busy to even really enjoy it...
But we made the best of it.

Hope Everyone Had A Wonderful Christmas!
