Alex Turns 9

It's not always easy planning a birthday party...
Kids change their mind so often...
But art is always her jam...

I have a friend who recently started doing painting parties...
I contacted her months before to make sure she was ok dealing with kids...
When she agreed, we picked the date and the template for them to paint....

I spent a good amount of time pinning ideas on pinterest...
Shopping for the items needed to make the vision come to life...
Purchasing the cake and cupcakes from Target...
Letting Alex pick out the sprinkles to decorate the cupcakes...

Alex had to task of choosing which friends to invite...
She has a few friends she plays with and talks about daily...
Then she has other friends that come and go, just depends on the week...
She got to pick 10 friends, the choice was hers.

She picked some of my favorite girls...
Some girls I've never meet before and only heard of...
and a few girls who couldn't make it.

It is fun and crazy to see all the different personalities of these girls...
Some are so out going and loud, others are soft spoken and take it all in...
I would assume Alex is in the middle, but when she got around these girlfriends...
She was defiantly loud and outgoing, even a little to much at times.

The Art teacher stenciled in the ice cream cone...
Thank goodness I had her do this, made it so much easier for the kids...
Then she gave them directions, step by step they created their master piece.

It was fun watching them all come together...
How fast or slow each girl painted...
what ones cared about staying in the lines..

We did pizza, punch and snacks...
Cupcakes and Gifts!

The most fun was painting...
I'm pretty sure all the girls loved this activity!

Hopefully some have the painting hanging on the walls in their homes or rooms.

Its amazing the friendships Alex has built over the past 2 years at Annandale.
She always has had an easy time making friends buts its fun to watch the relationships grow.

She's lucky to have all these girls in her life.
I hope their friendships only grow stronger, while she makes others as she grows.
