The Great Minnesota Get Together

For the past 9 years we have headed to the state fair with my parents.
As the family grows more people join us in the yearly tradition.

We started with just my parents, myself and Alex...
We eventually added Avin a few years later.
My sister in law Heather & my niece& nephew Ceci & Ciro.

We have experienced all spectrums when it comes to weather...
From nasty hot and humid to even chiller temps.

We even made it on the news one year because we where all bundled up in winter gear.
Most years its nasty hot with high humidity, then add all the people and its pretty nasty!

The fair used to be just about us adults..
but we are now over ruled by the kids...

They have taken over the fair ...
We are lucky if we even get to eat the food we want to!

The girls love the trampolines ...
Each year they become more brave & try new things.

Alex did 15 + back flips in a row...
Avin could actually do a black flip this year!

We spend most our time in the rides section...
To bad the fair doesn't sell an unlimited wrist band...

The kids could and would ride all day long if we allowed it...
They don't like being told its time to move on...

They also don't like that they are between heights...
Most the rides in the kids section aren't fast enough or don't spin enough...
But the girls aren't exactly tall enough to ride on the big rides at the Mid Way.

Alex is able to experience some of the bigger rides...
But still not all of them, next year I plan to go on more rides with her!

Ciro is able to join in on some of the bigger kiddy rides...
All the kids are getting to have fun!

We went to the rapture show for the first time..
They had some pretty amazing and beautiful birds.

After the bird show we headed back to the Kid Way ...
There was more rides to be rode!

Then we moved on to the Wax Hands...
This is the second time my girls have done this...

The previous years we have done crazy hair or face painting...
But with school being the next day we opted to do something
that would last more then a just a few hours.

I remember doing wax hands as a kid at the renissance festival ...
It's awesome they are still around and that my girls can now experience it.

It's always fun to see how they choose to hold their hands...
The colors they pick at the end, glitter or no glitter.

Alex got ahold of my camera a few times throughout the day...
Here is what she captured...

We ended the day at the fair with the sky ride...
This is something the girls and I have never done together...

They finally convinced me to take them on a ride...
They enjoyed it but Alex said it wasn't needed again!

As far as food goes we really didn't eat that much and shared everything...
Cookies, Taffy, Pork Chop on a Stick, French Fries, Turkey Sandwhich, Mini Donuts & snow cones.

2016 Minnesota State Fair was once again a blast, Here is to next year!

Did I mention this was the first year I went stroller FREE!
My girls are getting so big its crazy, 9 years at the fair for Alex!
