Road Trip 2016

Bob and I hit the road Wednesday the 31st after work....
Our 1st destination was Kentucky...

We stopped about 6.5 hours into the drive to sleep...
We stayed in a mildew smelling Super 8...
We ate at Applebees.

We hit the road at about 7am...
Kentucky was the next stop...

I made reservations for Chicago while we where driving...
We where hoping to spend a night there after Bobs Hunt.

We saw some cool bridges along the way...
We also saw some crazy vines that covered just about everything...

The purpose of the trip was hunting...
Bob had his mind of a Buck in Full Velvet!

We went and he concurred!
I am so excited for him that he got his Buck.

It was such an awesome feeling...
Sharing in on his excitement!

So proud of him...
Can't wait to see that beauty mounted !

He got his deer on Thursday evening...
We had no where to be until Saturday...
So we stayed and relaxed.

We spent Friday morning and evening sitting in a deer stand..
The morning we saw nothing at all, but the evening we saw some action...

We got to see a few bucks, a doe and her fawn!
I get to excited and scare them...
Hunting may not be my thing but I sure enjoy the wildlife!

We headed out early Saturday morning for Chicago.
Driving in Chicago is stressful and I was just the passenger!

The roads on top of and under each other...
The massive amount of drivers...
and even more walkers!

About an hour after driving in circles...
We made it to the Hilton Garden Inn....

We relaxed for a bit before we walked to the Navy Pier...
It was about a 15 - 20 minute walk but great people seeing on the way...

I convinced Bob to ride the Ferris Wheel...
What a great view from way up top!

We had dinner at Hairy Careys Tavern on the Pier...
Yummy Pizza and Drinks!

We headed back to the hotel pretty early...
Woke up to take in a few more sights before the 7 hour drive home...

We headed to Millenium Park in the morning...
We couldn't leave Chicago without seeing "the bean"

I loved our "first" vacation together...
and can only hope we get to take lots more road trips!

I loved playing tourist with him for 4 days...
1 cities explored ( Chicago ) many more to go!
