Duluth '16

Before we headed home Sunday afternoon we stopped by the Glensheen Mansion...
We did the self guided tour and learned a little bit of History.

We had heard that there was 6800 people that went through the place the weekend before...
So we booked our tickets online to secure our spot...

When we got there we learned that there was 25 hidden elves...
The kids enjoyed looking for the elves in each room...
Instead of learning about the history of the house.

I find history of old houses fascinating...
I love learning about the families that ran them...

I would have loved to have had a guided tour...
But this would do for now...

It's amazing the detail that went into this house...
How much time and the cost it took to build this house...
If only the walls could talk and tell us stories.

I love how many different rooms are in these old homes...
We are so concerned now with open concept...
I enjoy how each room is layer out.

I hope to tour more homes like these...
Learn more about the history of homes alike.

I'd love to go down south and tour some of the plantations...
Those are the walls I wish could talk.

Truly Fascinating!
